Is Kowy® sustainable?

It is very important nowadays to talk about the future of our planet. Whereas it is on the education of our children, the cleanliness of our waters or the biodegradable components of what we consume. 

Under the project Kowy® Cares, we develop personal relationship connections with an intent to bring optical care to unprivileged families. And this is a way of being sustainable in a way, but we started wondering and getting questions about the materials of our products.

Is Brass a sustainable material?

The brass industry throughout the world depends on the recycling of brass scrap for its survival. Making brass from new copper and zinc would be uneconomical and wasteful of raw materials so, since new brass articles are made from recycled scrap, brass is said to be sustainable.

When comparing the recycle process of brass to that of other metals such as steel or aluminum, it can be seen that brass is significantly more energy-efficient. Brass can be recycled many times over without diminishing the composition so it means that the recycling process can continue to tie and again, thus making the metal highly sustainable.

The answer is yes!
